No costing for Prosoft connect…still looking at options.
ICX35 – 4G Cellular modem
Also, planned for wired versions of ICX35 that uses vendors network access – not currently available.
· One VPN connection at one time. 5 different users that can have access to the connection.
Access to ProSoft connect (it is Free):
Define team members. Can have up to 5 users created.
Logs provided.
Activity logs shows what has been done on ProSoft connect and changes on ICX35 modem.
Alerts on errors
Looking at the modem itself:
Pending changes must be applied
Support -online support to tech support. Used to request virtual activation key for the virtual modem.
Connecting to the modem:
Need to create tunnel. Either manually or use link to establish vpn connection. Generate one time password for the VPN connection every time you connect.
Also have tutorial to take you through the process of setting up the VPN client connection.
New VPN connected. Copy the one time pass word and connect. Can connect with your studio 5000, etc.
· Can browse through RSlinx on your PC.
· Can be used for any PLC or directly to drives.
· Can use any sim card with data plan.
· 2G through to 4G cellular connections
· Idle data usage is carrier dependent.
· Currently no way to notify someone when someone is logged on via ICX35.
· SMS Messages send from PLC.
· Can send commands back to PLC. e.g text tags.
· Need SMS plan.
· No e-mail alerts to when the ICX is powered of or vaulted.
· ICX35 - No inbuilt IO.
Firmware upgrades.
Can do VPN setup on Linux as well.
