Other Notes

Provides consequential alarms – alarms caused by other alarms.

Compare alarm stats against standards (EEMUA 191 metrics).

Architecture should have 1 central alarm advisor connected to multiple alarm sources.

To determine Analysis Points, use Alarm Adviser demo from WDN.

Similar alarm severity definitions to ArcheStrA IDE 2014 onwards.

Provides out of the box widget information. Shows Severity frequency counts, metrics against KPI targets. Targets come from the EEMUA standards.

Admin users can configure dashboard, edit JPI targets.

Other users are read only.

Moving slider to provide interactive time period to view.

Shows the top 10 alarms . Use this as a discussion point with operators/engineers to determine corrective action plan.

Long standing alarms are alarms that even when acknowledged stay on. E.g. A broken device. Gives visibility to suppress or disable alarms that provide no value. Are your alarm limit definitions correct?

Can any fleeting alarms be removed from the system via de-bounce timers in the PLC? Does the operator need to be bothered by these alarms?

Export data to Excel to run custom reports.

Are you targeting the correct alarm?

All different views (fleeting, longest, consequence) can be ‘favourited’. These can then be used to build a quick dashboard.

Q and A

·         Version support – not InTouch specific (DB constraint i.e. all available).

·         EEMUA is a horizontal standard across industries. Also leverages ISA8.2.

·         Web browser control can be embedded (like an ActiveX in InTouch or WebBrowser control in ArchestrA graphics).

·         Not possible to directly annotate results. This can be done through Excel spreadsheet.
