Notepad++ has grown into an all-round useful tool for developers. One of the features is the syntax highlighting, and the ability to create your own. But why create your own when one is already created for you!

 

If you’re using an obscure language not listed by default, check out the notepad++ wiki at the link below. It’s far from complete, but It’s another place to look before you try googling. For ABB robot code, it was the most complete option of those I found through google. Link:

On a related note, look into “Function List” and “Folder as Workspace” (credit: David Miller) if you really want to look into making NotePad++ more useful for yourself. Also, check out “XML Tools” Plug in if you’re dealing with XMLs .
